Nobel Square

When I lived in Santiago, I always thought Chile should to create a fabulous "Nobel Square" dedicated to the two Chilean poets who have won the Nobel Prize in Literature: Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda. Ironically I found that place now in my hometown, Caracas, a very modest square next to the National Library.

Cuando vivía en Santiago, siempre pensé que Chile debía crear una fabulosa "Plaza Nóbel" dedicada a los dos poetas chilenos que han ganado el Premio Nóbel de Literatura: Gabriela Mistral y Pablo Neruda. Irónicamente esa plaza la encontré ahora en mi ciudad natal, Caracas, una plaza muy modesta junto a la Biblioteca Nacional, al lado del Samán de La Trinidad, un gran árbol sembrado en 1753 y en cuya sombra Andrés Bello dio clases a Simón Bolívar.
